Dr Chamica specialises in adult endocrinology. She has special interest in Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, Osteoporosis Adrenal disorders, Pituitary dysfunction, Thyroid disorders, as well as disorders of calcium metabolism and hyperparathyroidism, Testosterone deficiency and Menopause.

Graduating from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2003. She completed her specialist training at Nambour Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital and Gold Coast University Hospital. She continued to work at Gold Coast University hospital as an Endocrinologist until 2020. More recently Dr Chamica has travelling and working in multiple hospitals accross Queensland, including Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Townsville University Hospital and Cairns Hospital.

Dr Chamica prides herself in her ability to listen to her patients’ needs and her empathetic patient-centred care. She enjoyed teaching medical students at the University of Queensland, and was an associate lecturer at Griffith University and Bond University. 

She was involved in a multicentre randomised control trial in the use of monoclonal antibodies in the treatment of T1DM. Her presentations include atypical forms of osteoporosis, management of bilateral adrenal adenomas and endocrine hypertension. 

In her spare time, she enjoys travelling with her family, participating in triathlons and marathons.
