Dr Lisa Ward is a specialist Endocrinologist managing all endocrine disorders including Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, Pituitary, Adrenal, Thyroid,  Calcium disorders, Osteoporosis and Women’s Health.

Her special interests are Type 1 diabetes and pump therapy, adolescent health, Diabetes in pregnancy and endocrine disorders in pregnancy. 

Dr Ward graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from University of Auckland, NZ. She has worked in Cairns Hospital and Gold Coast University Hospital and achieved dual specialist training in Endocrinology and General Medicine. 

She is a Griffith University lecturer, a clinical teacher for RACGP and University of Queensland, and a coach in physician education at Gold Coast University Hospital, where she holds a public appointment. She serves as a director of Oceania Pacific Health Association as well as Pacifika Women’s Alliance.

Her passion for teaching comes through her work; she provides empathetic, evidence-based care and takes the time to work towards better health for her patients.
